Christi's Homemade Chili

About the Recipe



1 can of Tomatoe Paste

4 cups of water

1  28oz of crushed tomatoes

1 green bell pepper

1 red or yellow bell pepper

1 sweet onion

1 can (16 oz) of Northern Beans

1 can (16 oz) of Chili Beans

1 lb of ground turkey

1 lb of sausage

Salt & Pepper to taste

2 TBLS Chili powder

1 TBLS Oregano

2 tsp Garlic Powder or 2 cloves of garlic

A dash of Red Chili Pepper Flakes

TBLS of Chili Garlic Sauce or a dash of hot sauce to your liking


Cook the turkey and ground sausage in a frying pan.  Cut up the onion and cook it with the meat mixture.  Season with salt and pepper.

Add your tomatoe paste  and stewed tomatoes along with  4 cups of water into a large pot.  

Once the turkey and sausage is cooked, add it to the pot.  

Add both northern and chili beans.

Season with the chili powder, oregano, garlic.  If you like it spicy shake some of the red pepper flakes in there.  I added a tablespoon or two of the chili garlic sauce.  It has some kick to it.

Dice your green and red/ yellow bell peppers and toss those into the pot.

Let the chili simmer for at least a half hour.   The longer the better.  :)

Garnish with sour cream, cheese and green onion.
